A progress report

It has been some time since our last blog and so we are pleased to be able to share an update on the progress at Wallcliffe House.

Regular readers will recall that some site works were due to be undertaken ahead of a development application being lodged as well as additional planning and design activity to support that application. Our team has been working very hard during the past year to progress both of these areas, and we are sure anyone who has ever built something from scratch can attest, timelines are rarely, if ever, a given!

We are inching closer to the development application stage however we won’t chance fate by nominating a date until we are much clearer on the timelines.

Some of the smaller projects completed include documenting and surveying all trees on the property to create a baseline of stored carbon and removal of diseased, non-native olive and cypress trees.

Much of our efforts have focused on upgrading the riparian areas at Wallcliffe House. Whilst generally in good condition, the opportunity to increase riparian planting density and diversity in this area will have a positive impact on the river’s edge, preventing erosion and creating a nature corridor for native species.

To increase the diversity of plants along the river bank, we have partnered with Cape Life to take seeds from existing indigenous and local native plant selections and propagate those into seedlings for replanting. More details on this program to follow soon.

We are hopeful to be able to continue more regular updates as things progress throughout the year.

As always, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions you may have for our team.
