Limited site works to commence at Wallcliffe House

We are pleased to announce the next step in the Wallcliffe House project which is the removal of the ruins of the modern-day buildings from the site.

This part of the process has been brought forward with a separate Development Application recently approved by the Shire due to the continuing deterioration of these structures.

These are the non-heritage buildings only to the west of the site, encompassing the remains of the newer house and service building.  The works will commence on Monday 22 November and are expected to take seven – 10 days to complete, noting that no works will take place over the weekend.

Regular readers of the blog may recall a commitment to reuse and repurpose as many materials as possible in the future build.  With respect to these newer buildings, the materials have been deemed to have little to no future application at Wallcliffe House and so they are being transported to a local waste recycling centre were the brick and stonework will be crushed and re-used in other construction projects such as roads, paving and footpaths.  We’re intending to use material from the same recycling centre for base elements of the build.

Once these works are complete, the next step will be the lodgement of the Development Application for the project which is expected to occur sometime towards the middle of next year.

We are excited to be taking another step forward to realise our vision to breathe new life into this very special property.
